when a picture is worth a thousand words

kare kano
So I was poking around on Amazon, doing some work for PPYA, when I came across this book cover. Let me just say, the addition of Amazon's "Search Inside" logo gave this cover a new meaning . . .

Am I the only one who's giggling like a twelve-year-old about that? :-)

In other news: many congratulations on the winners in the recent ALA elections! I'm particularly thrilled about some of the YALSA results: I know Michele Gorman will do a great job on the YALSA Board of Directors. But even more happy-making for me is that Liz Burns was elected to the Printz, as well as my fellow PPYAers Marin Yonker and Alison Hendon. Yay!!!! [tosses confetti]

Isn't it something? It makes me want to go through Amazon looking for more books with an inappropriately appropriate Search Inside logo.

I'm giggling too.

And not just about the boy's shoes or the girl's tights.

Oh, God, those tights are just hideous! When I first looked at the cover, that was all I saw--it took me a minute to see the Search Inside and the arrow. [grin]

(You HAVE to send this to the others. Allan will love it.)

BECAUSE WE ARE TWELVE!

We so are. And you know, there's nothing wrong with that. Being twelve is fun! [bounces]

This made me laugh, too.

Okay, I know this is tacky of me, but I posted a list of (nudge, nudge) titles I think should be nominated to that sex list. And of course, I wouldn't object if one of my books was nominated either. :)

Ooo, I completely missed that post, Lara! I'll have to go check it out.

And if it'll set your mind at ease, Anyone But You has been nominated to the family list. I know, I know--not as exciting as being nominated to the sex list, but I'm hoping that we might finally get one of your books on a PPYA list!

[is still bitter that Contents didn't make it onto the Blush list]

Awww. You're so sweet.

Actually, one of Lola's books made it onto PP last year. For which I am tres grateful.

That Lola bitch. Always doing better than me. Harumph. :)

Am not going to ALA so not sure when I'll see you. Maybe NCTE when it's in NYC? We can get some alphabet soup and catch up!

And those tights...

Tights like that just don't exist in the real world! They only seem to occur in some strange quasi-real world, as seen on television.
